The theme of this year’s EMAC conference is “From the roots up, shifting our culture with your union power, it starts with you.” The committee is requesting workshops centered on racial, social, and economic justice with a preference given to workshops that incorporate the following themes: leadership development, forming coalitions to creatively solve problems in our communities, legislative pathways to resolve systemic barriers, meeting the needs and advocating for our diverse members and students, accessing grants, and funding, and negotiating and winning fair contracts. The hope of the committee is for your workshop to engage and inspire members to reflect and work on ideas for action that they can use in their locals, classrooms, and communities.

Lastly, if you’re interested in other presenting opportunities with the MTA, and haven’t already done so, please add your information to the Division of Training and Professional Learning’s Facilitator Database.
