Retired members were among the MTA members who organized this winter to fight changes sought by Governor Maura Healey to health care benefits for public employees. The Group Insurance Commission ultimately decided in February not to approve substantial hikes proposed for copays and deductibles, after a month of pressure from statewide employees and retirees.
