MTA Today: Demanding Safety and Full Staffing
MTA Today: Demanding Safety and Full Staffing
MTA members spent countless hours over the summer — working together but socially distanced — as they rallied, bargained, organized, met over Zoom and took part in professional development. Educators were united in their message: We are essential, not expendable. In this issue, you’ll find extensive coverage of MTA member activism amid the pandemic, including the challenges for prek-12 educators and the fight by higher education members to ensure safety on campuses. There are also stories about local associations taking on structural racism and the launch of the PreK-12 ESP Bill of Rights campaign, as well as the second in a series of stories celebrating MTA’s 175th anniversary. This edition also includes the 2020 MTA Primary Election Guide.
