Register today for the MTA Ethnic Minority Affairs Committee Conference, which will be held on Friday, Dec. 1, and Saturday, Dec. 2, in Framingham. The conference uses workshops, presentations and entertainment to inspire participants to work on ideas for action and to bring those ideas back to their locals, classrooms and communities.
The conference will kick off with dinner and a keynote address delivered by Rocío Inclán of NEA's Center for Social Justice. Saturday's agenda includes sessions on promoting diversity through the arts, culturally relevant pedagogy, "undoing racism," ELL issues, immigrant youth in crisis and Native Americans. Kent Wong, director of the UCLA Labor Center, will address participants at lunchtime.
