MTA Fall Workshops

This November, the MTA is offering free two-day workshops where members can earn PDPs toward license renewal. These member-designed workshops will meet relicensure requirements in the specified areas. Both workshops will be held at MTA Headquarters from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2 and Saturday, Nov. 23.

Looking for More Opportunities to Meet PDP Requirements

The Professional Learning and Networking (PLAN) Conference will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020.

MTA is also offering a full slate of two-day workshops across the state during February and April vacation weeks, as well as on select Saturdays in March and April.

More information will be available in January.

Autism, Executive Function, ADD and Pragmatic Language - Rules of Engagement
(15 Special Ed PDPs)
Participants will learn about these specific disorders in order to understand the similarities and differences between autism, executive function, ADD and pragmatic language. The social and emotional effect of these disabilities on the student will be considered. Approaches to working with these challenging students will be discussed holistically.

Creating Success with English Learner Students
This workshop is designed for anyone who works with English Learner (EL) students (teachers, specialists and support staff). It will cover background and identification information on EL students in Massachusetts, the importance of culture, current data and research-based strategies for working with EL students all while providing experiential, hands-on exercises and discussions to deepen and solidify approaches and ideas you can take back to your daily interactions with EL students and their families.
