The LGBTQ+ Committee identifies organizational concerns of LGBTQ+ members; recommends to the MTA Board of Directors mechanisms to address those concerns; monitors the implementation and effectiveness of LGBTQ+ membership activities; and communicates to the membership on all MTA activities that are of concern to LGBTQ+ members.

Dozens of educators marched behind the MTA banner at the 2019 Boston Pride Parade on June 8 — and they were met with enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. The activists showed their support for all students and took the opportunity to share the Fund Our Future message, handing out flyers supporting ed funding bills. This year’s event marked the 50th anniversary of the historic Stonewall Uprising.
