The LGBTQ+ Committee identifies organizational concerns of LGBTQ+ members; recommends to the MTA Board of Directors mechanisms to address those concerns; monitors the implementation and effectiveness of LGBTQ+ membership activities; and communicates to the membership on all MTA activities that are of concern to LGBTQ+ members.

Each year, a delegation of MTA educators march behind the MTA banner at pride parades across the state. This year, members are walking in the Springfield Pride Parade on Saturday, June 7 and Boston Pride for the People parade on Saturday, June 14.
