On Sept. 1, MTA members joined with unions from across the state to speak out for workers' rights, fair wages and the right to public education for all students. The day was joyful and glorious! In Boston, thousands of union members and allies marched from the Massachusetts State House to Boston City Hall Plaza in support of the public good, workers over billionaires, and public education over the interests of billionaires.
In Holyoke, hundreds of educators with the Holyoke Teachers Association, along with other union members and allies, marched for a fair contract as the city's public schools begin to exit state receivership and transition to local control.
