Statement regarding Woburn work stoppage per court order


Today the Woburn Teachers Association and the Woburn School Committee reached a final agreement. In compliance with the order of the Superior Court and the Commonwealth Employment Relations Board, the Massachusetts Teachers Association publicly states as follows as a supplemental statement to its prior statement concerning the Woburn work stoppage:

      1. The Massachusetts Teachers Association is in compliance with the January 27, 2023 order of the CERB.
      2. The Massachusetts Teachers Association and its officers have ceased and desisted from inducing, encouraging or condoning any strike, work stoppage, slowdown or other withholding of services as relates to the Woburn Teachers Association, to the extent they ever took such actions. The Massachusetts Teachers Association shall not permit its officers to encourage, condone or induce any strike, work stoppage, slowdown, or other withholding of services.
      3. The Massachusetts Teachers Association hereby publicly states that any strike resulting from the strike vote that was scheduled to take place on January 27, 2022, as well as any other work stoppage, slowdown, or other withholding of services, is illegal and must therefore cease. WTA members must immediately return to work.
