MTA Today: A Summer of Action
MTA Today: A Summer of Action
MTA Summer Member Organizers have fanned out across the state in recent weeks to share information about the Fair Share Amendment. The measure, which is Question 1 on the ballot for the general election in November, will provide needed funds for public education and transportation. This issue of MTA Today features coverage of the campaign, as well as information on MTA-recommended candidates for the primary election in September. Among other highlights, the Summer edition also includes an interview with new MTA President Max Page and Vice President Deb McCarthy, coverage of the MTA’s Juneteenth celebration and the 2022 Summer Conference, and stories that examine the growing power of local unions and Education Support Professionals in contract bargaining.
