Speaking Out Against High-Stakes Testing

MTA educators came from all over the state and waited hours to testify at a State House hearing on testing held on June 11, 2015. In written or oral testimony, more than 50 members told their personal stories about how the focus on high-stakes testing is disrupting teaching and learning in their schools, increasing stress on students and teachers and narrowing the curriculum.

"A student’s strengths and struggles exist regardless of whether they can score well on a standardized test. "
