The National Education Association and The NEA Foundation have created the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund on behalf of our fellow educators in Texas and Louisiana as they begin the slow process of rebuilding their lives, financially and emotionally.

Your participation — as a donor and in encouraging donations to this fund — is desperately needed. Visit the relief fund’s web page to learn more and donate. You'll also find additional resources for educators, students and families, as well as special assistance from NEA Member Benefits partners.

“Your donations will go to support NEA members in Texas and Louisiana affected by Hurricane Harvey.”

In an email to NEA members across the country on Aug. 30, NEA President Lily Eskelsen García said that as many as one-third of NEA members in Texas and Louisiana may be affected or will be in the days to come.

“Your donations will go to support NEA members in Texas and Louisiana affected by Hurricane Harvey, personally and at the schools where they work,” she said. “NEA will work with the Texas State Teachers Association (TSTA) and the Louisiana Association of Educators (LAE) to disburse funds. Thank you for contributing to help NEA families affected by this disaster,” she added.
