Learn with the MTA and Earn PDPs

The MTA offers free professional development for members to earn up to 15 PDPs toward license renewal. These member-designed workshops cover different areas, including special education and English learners.

Summer Professional Development Courses

Professional development courses are free to MTA members and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Courses are scheduled in July.
  • Courses are online and asynchronous.
  • Registration opens at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9.

English Language Learners Special Ed Other Topics

Course offerings include: Curriculum & Instruction, English Language Arts/Literacy, English Language Learners, Mathematics, Safe & Supportive Schools, Technology and Special Education.

Summer Conference 2025

Summer Conference is July 26 to 29 at UMass Amherst

Make connections, gain skills and prepare for the work ahead at Summer Conference. This year, we are offering 100 sessions on union skills, professional development and anti-oppression education, plus bargaining and PDP certificate courses and graduate credit.
