We are a diverse group of education workers fighting for the public schools and colleges our students and our committees deserve. We are not new to this fight. Founded in 1845, the MTA has been a powerful voice for educators, students and the common good for nearly two centuries. The MTA is more than a union – We are a movement for public education.

MTA members led a successful fight to stop health insurance deductibles and copays from drastically rising for hundreds of thousands of public employees and will continue organizing to restore full insurance coverage for GLP-1 drugs.

‘Tartan Army’ soccer fans donate to students in need

The Scots who came to Boston for the World Cup donated $15,000 to the Massachusetts Child, a charity operated by the MTA. These funds will bolster the work being done by MTA members to help students who are experiencing economic hardship.
