MTA Today: Educators welcome students with empathy


mta today summer 2021 coverAmid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, educators are reuniting with students and colleagues in buildings across the state and fighting to keep everyone in their communities safe. This issue is filled with coverage of the new year beginning in public schools and on public campuses. MTA members in Springfield and Chicopee told MTA Today how they prepared for the challenges and opportunities of full in-person learning, while higher education unions took the lead over the summer on efforts to advocate for stronger safety requirements at colleges and universities. A commentary focuses on what new federal funds could mean for public education.
