MTA Today: School Funding Victory
MTA Today: School Funding Victory
MTA members are pushing for change — and they are getting results. The fall edition of MTA Today features coverage of the campaign to win more equitable funding for public education through the Student Opportunity Act, which passed the Legislature on Nov. 20 and was signed by the governor on Nov. 26 after MTA Today went to press. The issue also highlights teachers in Dedham who recently struck for a fair contract; educators supporting the student-led Global Climate Strike, the MTA Racial Justice Summit, which gave educators tools to fight racism; Everett ESPs demanding fairness and winning recognition; and MTA retirees speaking out at the State House on the need for economic security.
