MTA Today: Our Students Can't Wait
Member activism has moved into high gear in the Fund Our Future campaign. This edition features extensive coverage of advocacy by the MTA and our coalition allies that has pushed the issue of equity in public education funding to the top of the agenda on Beacon Hill. You’ll also find a story on the ongoing fight against charter schools, which has inspired privatization opponents in New Bedford and Haverhill to share strategies and take action together. Meanwhile, the MTA is calling for fully funding school libraries as an association task force is gathering and analyzing information on the issue, and in Sharon, educators and parents have won changes to a policy on student testing.
