This program is available to all preK-12 MTA locals. Unions with 500 or fewer members can be reimbursed up to $200, and those with more than 500 members may receive up to $500. These grants are in addition to the regular grants that locals can obtain.

Please purchase books for specific students. The grants are not intended to be used for bulk orders. Mass Child directors want this grant to be used to provide the opportunity for students and educators to talk about books, literature and learning.

The Mass Child Board of Directors is proud of the work MTA members do to promote and strengthen literacy, and hopes that these grants will support that work.

The Summer Reading Program operates like Mass Child’s regular grant offerings. Locals must first purchase the items for students in need and then submit receipts with a reimbursement form signed by the president of the local association.

The deadline for reimbursement applications is June 11.

Reimbursement checks will go out following the board’s final meeting of the school year on June 13.
