Executive-Director Treasurer

OVERVIEW

The Massachusetts Teachers Association (MTA) represents over 116,000 educators and nearly 400 locals across the state and employs over 150 full-time staff. Our members are teachers, education support professionals, counselors, social workers, bus drivers, and more in preK-12 public schools, and faculty and staff in the state’s public colleges and universities. As a member-driven organization and the largest union in New England, our collective power makes MTA an influential voice for educators, students, and their communities. MTA’s innovative approach to democratized bargaining, contract action teams, and rank and file organizing has resulted in groundbreaking gains for our members. And historic victories won through coalition efforts, such as last year’s ballot initiative raising taxes on the wealthy to fund public schools and colleges, have raised standards for communities across the state. We are proud to be an advocate for social, racial and economic justice and for a public education system that provides one of the cornerstones of a thriving, equitable, and democratic society.
