We're seeking workshop proposals for Just For New Teachers
The MTA New Member Committee invites you to share your expertise with new teachers from across Massachusetts at the annual Just For New Teachers Conference. The conference will be held on Saturday, November 19, in Worcester.
The committee is currently accepting proposals for two-hour workshops. Presenters will be paid $200 per workshop.
Proposals will be evaluated based on the strength of their descriptions including:
- Goals/objectives that will make sure new teachers leave the workshops with practical skills, tools and techniques they can immediately apply to their classrooms.
- Interactive teaching strategies to model excellent pedagogy aligned to the content of the workshop
- Clear explanation of who the workshop is designed for (grade levels, skill levels, etc.)
About Just For New Teachers
MTA’s Just For New Teachers Conference is a one-day conference open to MTA educators in their first four years of practice. It is the perfect opportunity for new educators to meet with fellow teaching colleagues and get tips on everything from classroom management, working with parents and creating great lesson plans. The conference, hosted by MTA’s New Member Committee, also offers workshops on teaching English language learners and students with special needs, licensure and using technology in the classroom.
