MTA Today: All Out to Defeat Question 2

MTA Today Summer 2016Energy is surging into the No on Question 2 campaign as MTA members, parents and other allies work to spread the word about the disastrous impact that passage of the ballot initiative — which would sharply increase charter school expansion — would have on public education in Massachusetts. Election Day is November 8 — but this year, Massachusetts voters can begin casting ballots on October 24. Also included in this edition of MTA Today is the 2016 Election Guide, which explains why members should support Hillary Clinton for president and features recommended candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives and the state Legislature. Other coverage focuses on MTA’s push for an end to the Student Impact Rating and how some students gained more time for projects and research by opting out of standardized testing last spring.
