Tell your legislators: Keep the cap!
MTA members are strongly urged to contact their state legislators right away to let them know that educators oppose lifting the cap on Commonwealth charter schools.
Please ask your legislators to speak up in support of Senate Bill 326, an MTA bill filed by Sen. Marc Pacheco (D-Taunton) that would impose a three-year moratorium on the approval of Commonwealth charter schools.
Our district public schools serve all students; Commonwealth charter schools do not. The separate and unequal charter system is undermining public education by dividing our communities and siphoning much-needed funds from our district schools.
