Legislature passes $38.1B state budget
A $38.1 billion 2016 budget was passed by the House and Senate on July 8. The budget contains modest increases in overall education funding for the fiscal year that began July 1. On balance, preK-12 spending on public schools is up 2 percent over FY15; higher education saw an increase of 1.7 percent.
