MTA will continue to press education issues under Baker administration

MTA President Barbara Madeloni issued the following statement about the results of the Massachusetts gubernatorial election:

The Massachusetts Teachers Association congratulates Governor-elect Charlie Baker on his victory.

Under the Baker administration, the MTA will continue to advocate for polices that help students, families and communities. We will strongly encourage the administration to listen to educators and ensure that public education is adequately funded.

The future of public education was a dominant issue in this election. The people of the Commonwealth care deeply about the quality of our public schools, colleges and universities.

MTA members will continue to do everything they can to ensure that all students in our Commonwealth have access to a high-quality education and that educators’ voices are an integral part of the decision-making about creating the schools and colleges our students, families and communities deserve.
