Join NEA’s online forum on school safety

NEA members in Massachusetts and eight other states are invited to participate in an online peer discussion about school and college safety. The discussion is sponsored by the NEA in partnership with VIVA Educators.

To participate in the forum, go to:  http://vivanea.mysocialsphere.com/.

The MTA recently worked with New Voice Strategies, which runs VIVA, on an MTA VIVA Idea Exchange seeking input from teachers about how to reduce achievement gaps in the state’s Gateway Cities. The teachers' recommendations are contained in a report, “Addressing Educational Inequities: Proposals for Narrowing the Achievement Gaps in Massachusetts Gateway Cities."

For the NEA project, teachers will exchange ideas about how to improve safety in our public schools and on our college campuses. A small group of the participants will draft recommendations based on the leading ideas shared in the forum, and these will be presented to the NEA and to public officials in Washington, D.C.

Please join the discussion.
