DESE hosts series of tours and networking meetings at Innovation Schools across the state

The state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will host a series of Innovation Schools Network Visits and Principal and Teacher Network Meetings during the 2013-2014 academic year.
The first event is scheduled for Monday, November 4, at Worcester Technical High School. The event will give participants a chance to tour the state-of-the-art facility with school leaders and then join breakout groups for principals, teachers and innovation school planners.

Worcester Tech, an innovation school, has been nationally recognized. In September, Principal Sheila Harrity was named National High School Principal of the Year by the MetLife/National Association of Secondary School Principals. In the same month, US Education Secretary Arne Duncan named Worcester Tech a National Blue Ribbon School, in recognition of its outstanding student achievement.
