Action Agenda for Education

NEA President Dennis Van Roekel released a new action agenda for education today at a Washington, D.C., press conference. MTA President Paul Toner and other state leaders and NEA Directors attended the event. Van Roekel is calling for changes at the national, state and local levels. As noted in the NEA statement, the action plan “incorporates proven best practices from thousands of leading teachers from around the country and input from the independent Commission on Effective Teachers and Teaching.”

The NEA Board will be discussing these issues in the near future.
