Solidarity Rally for Verizon employees scheduled on August 4

Attention MTA members! Please show your support for IBEW and CWA members who are struggling to reach a contract settlement with their employer, Verizon, before their current agreement expires at midnight on August 6. The company, which reportedly made $3.6 billion in profits and paid no federal income taxes last year, is asking that workers give up their pensions and pay significantly more for health insurance.

Rally is scheduled for Thursday, August 4, 6 p.m., outside of Verizon Corporate Offices, 185 Franklin Street, Boston. Motorcycle riders in the Union Thunder Run are scheduled to arrive at the rally at the 6 p.m. start time.
