For February's observance of Black History Month, NEA/AFT affiliate NYSUT (New York State United Teachers) offers a free poster honoring the NAACP, which was instrumental in winning the 1954 desegregation case, Brown v. Board of Education. NYSUT's poster features a photograph of 6-year-old Ruby Bridges, the first African-American child to attend William Frantz Elementary, and her quote: "Don't follow the path. Go where there is no path and start a trail."
