Registration now open for intensive course on the new Common Core standards

The Common Core/Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks are transforming teaching and learning in Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Teachers Association, Teach Plus, and the College of Education and Development's Department of Curriculum and Instruction at UMass Boston are offering a free, intensive one-day conference aimed at supporting Massachusetts teachers in the rollout of the Common Core.

Registration is now open for Core in the Classroom: From Standards to Practice, a free conference scheduled on Saturday, Sept. 28. The conference will be led by teachers who have built expertise implementing the Common Core in their classrooms.
The daylong conference will help educators start the new school year with a deeper understanding of how to prepare their students for the Common Core. Mass Education Secretary Matthew Malone and Mass Education Commissioner Mitchell Chester will offer updates during the daylong seminar. MTA President Paul Toner will deliver opening remarks.
