2010 MCAS scores are strong

MTA President Paul Toner on release of 2010 MCAS scores:

“Massachusetts educators should be extremely proud of their work, the work of their students and the progress we have made. While there is more work to be done, these are excellent results. We can take great pride in these scores as well as our students’ overall high test scores in reading and math, which have repeatedly ranked us #1 in the nation. While MCAS does not measure all student learning, today’s results are further evidence that our teachers and our public schools are doing a lot right and are giving our students the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. Massachusetts continues to benefit from the expertise of our teachers, and it’s important that they be front and center when public policy decisions about our public schools are being made.”
