MTA member is "Literacy Leader"
MTA Member Karen Kosko, a librarian at the Daniel Haggerty School in Cambridge, was named a "Literacy Leader" at an event held at her school on May 12, kicking off the MTA Red Sox Reading Game, sponsored by Verizon Yellow Pages and other companies that champion reading.
Eric Close, one of the stars in the CBS drama Without a Trace, joined Boroson in reading to Haggerty School students at the event and talking to them about the importance of reading.
Boroson's book about the Red Sox is featured on this year's MTA Red Sox Reading Game poster, featuring catcher Jason Varitek.
Schools throughout the state will be receiving posters and Reading Game entry forms and book marks soon. Forms may also be downloaded from our literacy Web site at www.readingmatters.org
Students who pledge to read nine books over the summer will be eligible to receive free tickets to a Red Sox game on Sept. 10.
