PERAC hearings set
PERAC, the state agency charged with overseeing all public employee pensions, is proposing new regulations that would forbid use of enhanced longevity (sometimes referred to as "Lexington Plan") benefits in calculating pensions.
Public comment on the regulations will be taken at four hearings. Teachers and municipal employees are encouraged to attend these hearings to let the commissioners know what they think of these proposed regulations. Contact your local association president for more information.
The hearings start at different times, but teachers will be testifying after school. We expect that most teachers will arrive between 3:45 and 4 p.m. and will leave by 6 p.m.
